Gourmet Reserves truly offers the best in long-term storable survival foods. Made in a USDA inspected facility by the same company that produces the AlpineAire, Richmoor, and Natural High lines of outdoor sports foods, Gourmet Reserves is top of the line when it comes to performance and flavorful meals and food systems for long-term survival. After nearly a decade of developing high-performance meals for the AlpineAire brand, TyRy, Inc. launched Gourmet Reserves in 1989 to bring the best in dehydrated and freeze dried foods to the emergency preparedness market.
Gourmet Reserves hand picks and tests every ingredient that goes into their foods so the best flavor, texture and nutritional values are achieved. TyRy strives to acquire all natural ingredients and the majority are completely free of preservatives as well as artificial colors and flavors. MSG is never added to their recipes. Gourmet Reserves is survival dining at its best.
About 85% of this brand's foods are freeze dried while the other 15% come from one of the many other methods of dehydration. You’ll find many of the same meals used in the AlpineAire line for extreme sports here in the Gourmet Reserves survival foods. The Gourmet Reserves food storage systems are designed to sustain a person from a single month to two years. Of course, multiple one year systems can enable one to be self-sufficient well beyond a couple years. With Gourmet Reserves systems you won’t sacrifice sanity. If budget permits, Gourmet Reserves is the vanguard of freeze dried and dehydrated foods. Their systems guarantee the widest range of foods and variance in throughout consumption.
Gourmet Reserves has been around long enough to see other companies come and go, and we feel the 10 year shelf life is a conservative and truly honest claim. To understand Gourmet Reserve’s conservative philosophy, read their Shelf Life Statement. We feel very comfortable with the 10 year claim and as you can see many of their products will go 30 years plus. All foods are stored in either #10 cans (~one gallon) or #2 ½ cans (~ one quart) manufactured with heavy-gauge steal and lined internally with a food grade enamel coating. Oxygen absorbers are placed in every can to further extend the shelf life. Before being sealed, oxygen absorbers are inserted, cans are flushed with Nitrogen and vacuum sealed to a tested zero atmosphere.
If you’ve opened a can you can get another 60 days of shelf life in many of the Gourmet Reserves products by resealing using plastic lids that are included. We believe you will be very satisfied with any purchase of Gourmet Reserves.
